What you need to know
If you are going to use a Herman Miller office chair on wood, concrete, laminate, tiles or a cast floor, you need wheels for hard floors.
These special C9 wheels have an outer edge of a special plastic, which minimizes the risk of scratching the floor. You also need wheels for hard floors if you use a plastic protection plate to prevent damage to the carpet.
RollControl®
This type of wheel has a slight braking effect when you are not sitting on the chair. This prevents the chair from moving too easily over the hard floor. When you sit on the seat, this cancels the braking effect and you can roll freely
No-Noise™ stift
A novelty is that the metal pin used to fix the wheel in the star base has 2 locking rings instead of the traditional 1 locking ring. This ensures that the wheel makes less noise when rolling. This is particularly noticeable with the chairs that are equipped with an aluminum base.
